## Care and cosmetics — from daily routine to anti-ageing

Skincare, make-up and body cosmetics are a natural part of everyday life today — for men just as much as for women. Looking after your skin properly helps you feel more comfortable in it, prevents premature ageing and supports the body's largest organ in its protective function. The range of products and treatments is enormous — and that is exactly where it becomes hard to find your bearings.

### Daily skincare as the foundation

Cleansing, moisturising and sun protection are the three pillars of any sensible care routine. What matters is not the number of products, but how well they suit your own skin type. Dry, sensitive, oily and combination skin all need different care concepts. A skin analysis with a dermatologist or a qualified beautician helps to reduce your line-up to what you actually need.

### Natural and conventional cosmetics

Natural cosmetics rely on plant-based active ingredients and essential oils, and do without mineral oil, silicones and synthetic preservatives. Conventional cosmetics can play to their strengths with very specific active ingredients — retinol, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C or niacinamide, for example. Both worlds have their place; what counts is tolerability, ingredients with proven effects and realistic expectations of promises such as “anti-ageing” or “visible in 7 days”.

### Cosmetic treatments in the studio

Facials, microneedling, Hydrafacial, manicures and pedicures, permanent make-up, hair removal with wax, sugar or laser — cosmetic studios offer a broad spectrum. What matters: trained staff, hygiene standards (single-use materials, documented sterilisation) and transparent information about risks and aftercare. Before a first appointment, a consultation is well worth the time.

### Medical cosmetics and aesthetic procedures

Hyaluronic acid fillers, botulinum, fruit acid peels, laser therapy and permanent hair removal belong in the hands of doctors or medical aestheticians with the appropriate qualifications. Procedures like these are not simply wellness treatments — they should be discussed in detail, documented, and easy to trace should complications arise.

### Finding cosmetics providers you can rely on

The quality of studios and practices varies enormously — from highly professional addresses to providers carrying out cosmetic procedures without adequate training. Reviews from real customers often give the decisive clue about hygiene, quality of advice, atmosphere and actual results.

McGesund brings together reviews from the cosmetics sector and makes sure that every review comes from real customers. QR code verification, geolocation and cryptographic encryption prevent the fake reviews that distort the picture on many other platforms. The result is a reliable overall impression — before you book a treatment appointment.
